Circle (Enso) Paintings on Unstretched Canvas

I’m certainly not qualified to be drawing Ensos. The images came about after a vision of a circle being drawn. I realized a couple years later that it was an Enso, the Japanese symbol for unity of being, traditionally drawn by a Zen master.

Unqualified as I am, I feel compelled to draw and paint these circles.

I used trash in these pieces. Mostly plastic net produce bags for organic fruit. After throwing them away all the time, I decided to incorporate them into my art.

You might notice that I lose a lot of pieces. This mostly happens because I don’t stop when a painting is good. Or good enough. No painting is perfect. Trying to fix an abstract painting is very difficult and I usually ruin them if I try. But at least I have photos and I hope you enjoy them.
